Dr. Anastasios Vekris at the 7th Latin American FUE workshop

Experts from all over the world shared their knowledge on hair transplantation at the 7th Latin American FUE workshop held in Punta Cana, Santo Domingo from the 5th until the 8th of August 2023.

Dr. Anastasios Vekris, MD, Plastic Surgeon, Member of ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery), founder of CDM Medical Group and Medical Director of Advanced Hair Clinics,participated in the conference and workshops as a guest speaker and trainer.

As part of his presentation at the conference, Dr. Vekris highlighted the importance of male facial hairas a donor area for hair transplantation and discussed the importance of facial hair regarding male appearance. Male facial hair can change a man’s overall appearance, boost his confidence and create a statement. For all the reasons listed, there has been an increased need to enhance it through hair transplantation techniques.

With the help of accompanying visual material, Dr. Vekris explained to the doctors attending the conference the technique he has developed regarding the transplantation of facial hair in areas of the face and the enhancement of the natural beard. As he pointed out, the growing demand for beard transplant techniques requires a good knowledge of facial hair structure and transplantation procedures, as this is a very challenging part of FUE application.

During the workshops, Dr. Vekris performed a live transplantation on a patient’s beard, to share his knowledge, but also shared many “Tips & Tricks” that he has gained through his many years of experience in performing FUE beard transplants.

Advanced FUE is nowadays considered the most modern method of beard transplantation having as its great advantage the fact that it is minimally invasive, it leaves no scars and it provides a natural result. The areas it is performed on include the beard (chin), the mustache, the cheeks, the sideburns, and a combination of these areas.
