Dr. Anastasios Vekris delivered 2 presentations at the 31st ISHRS 2023 Conference in India!

Dr. Anastasios Vekris was invited as a guest speaker to the prestigious ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery) Conference, held in Delhi, India, from November 1st to 4th, 2023. During this leading international event, Dr. Vekris delivered two significant scientific presentations to the attending physicians.

The ISHRS conference is a premier scientific gathering for esteemed medical professionals specializing in hair transplantation and restoration. It offers a platform to explore innovative techniques and gain up-to-date insights from renowned experts in the field.

In his first presentation, titled “Pituitary Apoplexy: Always Expect The Unexpected,” Dr. Vekris, MD, Plastic Surgeon, ISHRS Member, and founder of Advanced Hair Clinics, discussed the critical issue of uncovering previously undiagnosed health problems during surgery. He shared a case where, following a successful hair transplant, a patient exhibited symptoms leading to a diagnosis of pituitary apoplexy—a condition involving bleeding or reduced blood supply to the pituitary gland, located at the brain’s base.

Dr. Vekris emphasized the importance of always being prepared for unexpected developments, even in procedures like FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), which rarely encounter complications. His second presentation, titled “Planning the Distribution of Follicular Units,” focused on the technical aspects of hair transplantation.
