FUE Asia Thailand: With 3 important presentations the Advanced Hair Clinics team

One of the most important meetings of leading physicians from around the world involved in FUE hair transplantation was attended as guest speaker and Chief Faculty by Dr. Anastasios Vekris, MD, Plastic Surgeon, Member of ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery), Founder of Advanced Hair Clinics and Director of Cosmetic Derma Medicine Medical Group. AHC was also represented by Hair Surgery Specialist and Associate Medical Director of Advanced Hair Clinics Dr. Antonia Andriopoulou, CEO of Cosmetic Derma Medicine Ms. Marina Sahakian and Alberta Alko, FUE Expert, member of the medical team of Advanced Hair Clinics.

The FUE Asia Thailand conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand from 23 to 25 August 2024.

As part of the conference, Dr. Anastasios Vekris presented Advanced Hair Clinics’ pioneering techniques regarding local anesthesia in hair transplantation, as well as scar restoration with the FUE technique.

The first presentation entitled “How to Minimize the Dosage of Local Anesthesia in Hair Transplantation Procedures” focused on the important topic of reducing the dosage of local anesthesia in hair transplantation, highlighting the importance of a deep knowledge of the anatomy of the nerves and vessels in the area for the surgeon. Dr. Vekris went into detail on the anatomical characteristics of the main anesthesia sites and preferred methods, as well as the possible adverse effects of the procedure, and based on his extensive experience, advised the attending specialists on ways to avoid and deal with them.

The second presentation by the founder of the world-renowned Advanced Hair Clinics entitled “Scar Reconstruction With FUE Hair Transplantation” focused on the best techniques for scar reconstruction using FUE hair transplantation. During his presentation, which gained the interest of the delegates and prompted dozens of relevant questions, Dr. Vekris answered the very important question of whether – and how – it is possible to reconstruct scars from scalp injuries or burns with excellent aesthetic results for the patient and highlighted the role of FUE in this. Dr. Vekris focused not only on the advances in technique that allow for the desired outcome, but also on the challenges the surgical team faces in the case of extensive scarring and insufficient or damaged donor site.

Also of great interest was the presentation by Hair Surgery Specialist and Associate Medical Director of Advanced Hair Clinics Dr. Antonia Andriopoulou entitled “Direct Implantation with Sharp Implanters”, where the Hair Specialist elaborated on the topic of proper technique and use of implantation tools and their contribution to a natural hair transplantation result.

Dr. Vekris also participated in two very interesting and educational debates for the participants, “The Sharp Choice: Unvailing my reasons behind my preference for sharp implanters” and “FUE vs. FUT”, where he exchanged views with Dr. Kavish.

Alongside the conference proceedings, interesting Hands – On workshops were held on 24 and 25 August where prominent doctors trained on real cases for their younger colleagues and shared with them techniques and tips for the best result. Dr. Anastasios Vekris and Dr. Antonia Andriopoulou were once again among the most popular trainers. The two physicians attracted the interest of numerous young doctors and nurses who attended their cases and received from them valuable advice based on their deep knowledge of the subject and their many years of experience.
