Dr. Anastasios Vekris elected Vice President of FUE Europe

Dr. Anastasios Vekris, President and Scientific Director of Advanced Hair Clinics, has been elected Vice President of FUE Europe. This important honor occurred at Bucharest’s 11th annual FUE Europe conference on 28-30 October.

FUE Europe was founded in 2011 to promote the highest standards of FUE hair transplant surgery in Europe and the rest of the world. Today, it is one of the largest international non-profit medical organisations and is based in Zurich.

Internationally renowned scientists specialised in regenerative medicine for hair restoration and representatives of international organisations presented the latest research and clinical studies on applying new innovative treatments against hair loss.

According to international observers of developments in the medical field, the annual FUE Europe Congress is the most important event in the field of hair transplantation and hair loss treatments, while at the same time giving rise to significant developments in the field of regenerative medicine related to hair restoration.

A great success for the Greek medical sector.

The position of Vice President in this internationally renowned organisation is a great honor, not only for Dr. Vekris, but also for the entire Greek medical sector and highlights at an international level the high expertise of Greek doctors. We want to remind you that recently, in April 2022 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, Dr. Anastasios Vekris was awarded the “Best Hair Restoration in the World” prize at the World Congress of Aesthetic Medicine and Anti-Aging (AMWC) for the results of hair loss and hair transplantation treatments of Advanced Hair Clinics.

Dr. Anastasios Vekris, who was entrusted with the position of Conference Chair, was invited to present the following 3 topics in his speeches:

“Complications in local anesthesia & how to minimise them”.

The doctor presented the anesthesia protocol of the Advanced Hair Clinics patients and went into detail about the technique of anesthesia in FUE hair transplantation and how it can be performed safely, quickly and effectively.

“Algorithm of beard FUE extraction & placement”

With the help of accompanying visual material, Dr Vekris explained to the delegates the technique he has developed regarding implanting facial hair in facial areas and enhancing natural beard.

The third lecture was on the business level with the topic: “How to set up a successful hair restoration practice”.

Dermatologist Dr Konstantina Mamali, deputy scientific director of the Department of Dermatology & Laser Applications of Cosmetic Derma Medicine, presented to the participants a speech on:

“Complications of medical treatments for alopecia”

In her lecture, Dr Mamali analyzed the possible complications and their potential occurrence in various alopecia treatments, such as with pharmaceuticals, PRP, laser, and exosomes, providing evidence-based analyses of existing treatment options to help make appropriate decisions within an individualized management approach aimed at efficacy, safety and quality of life of the patient.

Also, Dr Antonia Andriopoulou, Deputy Scientific Director and Hair Surgery Specialist of Advanced Hair Clinics, presented a clinical study on the methodology and strategy of hair follicle extraction and implantation in the modern FUE technique, as well as guidelines for best practices in the use of implantation tools (implanters).

On the proposal of the delegates, Dr. Andriopoulou was awarded the title of FUE Europe Ambassador by the Bureau. This honorary distinction comes to seal with an international recognition of the remarkable work of the physician in hair implantation.

The FUE Europe conference was concluded with a hands-on workshop, where delegates watched Dr. Vekris and his team perform live hair transplantation.
