Best practices in hair transplantation - Dr. Anastasios Vekris at IMCAS Americas 2024

At Sao Paulo, Brazil, were from 26-28 April Dr. Vekris, MD, Plastic Surgeon, Member of ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery), Founder of Advanced Hair Clinics and Director of Cosmetic Derma Medicine Medical Group and Dr. Amalia Tsiatoura, Dermatologist-Aphrodisiologist and Scientific Director of Cosmetic Derma Medicine, at IMCAS Americas 2024, one of the most important conferences for Dermatology, Plastic Surgery and Anti-Aging Science.

Dr. Vekris was invited to share his knowledge and experience with a diverse scientific audience from different countries around the world. His presentations once again captured the attention of the audience and sparked interesting scientific observations and discussions.

Local anesthesia during hair transplantation and how to give the minimum possible dose without negatively affecting the patient experience was the content of Dr. Vekris’ first presentation, entitled “How to Minimize the Dosage of Local Anesthesia in Hair Transplantation Procedures”. Among other things, Dr. Vekris pointed to proper knowledge of the anatomy of the skull and face as a key parameter for administering local anesthesia safely and effectively, as well as techniques for reducing discomfort from its application.

The very important issue of repairing scars from injury or burns by applying the FUE hair transplantation technique was addressed in the second presentation by the distinguished plastic surgeon. In this publication, entitled “Scar Reconstruction With FUE Hair Transplantation”, Dr. Vekris highlighted the challenges that surgeons continue to face in cases of extensive scars on the scalp and face.

His third and final presentation addressed an important topic for the medical community. It was titled “How to Set Up a Successful Hair Restoration Practice” and during her presentation she shared with the attendees the “secrets” of a successful career and practice specializing in hair transplantation.
