A Greek at the Presidency of the FUE Europe Society of Hair Transplantation – the leading European union of hair transplant surgeons

A historic milestone has been marked for the hair transplantation field, as for the first time a Greek physician assumes the presidency of FUE Europe, Europe’s leading scientific organization. Plastic surgeon Dr. Anastasios Vekris, who has been internationally recognized for his expertise, was announced as the new President during the recent conference held on September 18-20 in Madrid.

This appointment represents a landmark not only for his personal career, but also for elevating Advanced Hair Clinics and Greece in general as a center of excellence in hair restoration surgery at a global level.

FUE Europe, one of the most prestigious scientific organizations internationally, represents the cutting edge of technology and scientific research in hair transplantation. Dr. Vekris’s election to the Presidency is not coincidental. It represents the natural culmination of his many years of dedicated presence in the Organization, where he recently held the position of Vice President.

Dr. Vekris’s journey is characterized by a combination of clinical experience, research activity, and leadership initiatives. After his specialization at centers of international prestige in South Korea, London, and San Francisco, he founded Advanced Hair Clinics and Cosmetic Derma Medicine Medical Group, establishing new quality standards in Greece.

Throughout his career, he has performed, together with the medical team of Advanced Hair Clinics, of which he is Founder and President, more than 30,000 hair transplant procedures on patients from 80 countries and has performed surgery in 17 different countries. At the same time, Dr. Vekris plays a central role in training new doctors in innovative techniques, such as the “FUE Harvesting Zeus” technology for hair transplantation with long hair (Long hair FUE). Advanced Hair Clinics is set to become an official international training center for this method, which allows the patient to leave the operating room with new, natural hair, without it being apparent that they had a transplant. Given that the procedure requires high specialization from the surgeon, it is applied in few clinics internationally.

In 2025, the American website Gazette ranked him among the 8 top physicians worldwide in the field of hair transplantation, confirming his international reputation. Also, in April 2022 in Monte Carlo, Monaco, Dr. Anastasios Vekris was awarded the “Best Hair Restoration in the World” prize, within the framework of the World Congress of Aesthetic Medicine and Anti-Aging (AMWC).
