Dermatologist – Venereologist Dr. Athanasia Zampeta has been assigned as the Scientific Director of the Cosmetic Derma Medicine Clinics in Cyprus.

Dr. Athanasia Zampeta is a specialist dermatologist-venereologist. She studied at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina from 2009 to 2015. During the last year of her studies, she fulfilled internship at Royal Free Hospital of the University College of London (UCL) in London, United Kingdom. In 2015, she received her medical degree from the University of Ioannina with a grade of “Very Good”.

She worked as a resident doctor at the Internal Medicine Department of Mpodosakeio General Hospital of Ptolemaida. She continued and completed the residency program in dermatology – venereology at the Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases of the University General Hospital of Ioannina. During the last year of her residency, she was Clinical Observer at the Dermatology Department of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, Great Britain. During the observership she attended the specialized pediatric dermatology and genetic skin disorders outpatient clinics and participated in Mohs surgeries. In 2023 after successful exams, she received the specialty title of Dermatologist – Venereologist.

She continued her postgraduate studies at the Medical School of the University of Thessaly. She received the title of Master of Science within the framework of the MSc in “Nutrition in Health and Disease” with a grade of “Excellent”. Her thesis concerned the oral supplementation of contemporary and alternative medicine therapies in psoriasis.

She is currently a PhD Candidate at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina. Her PhD thesis is on: “Evaluation of modern imaging modalities and artificial intelligence in the measurement of the therapeutic effect in keratinocyte cancers and precancerous lesions of the skin”. Dr. Athanasia Zampeta has presented her work so far at international conferences and published it in renowned international scientific journals.

In 2023, she successfully completed postgraduate courses in Immunology at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, United States of America. The curriculum of the courses included “New therapies in chronic inflammation, autoimmunity and allergy” and “Immuno-oncology”.

After obtaining her medical degree, she has worked and continues to work as a Scientific Associate of the Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases of the University General Hospital of Ioannina. She holds a Good Medical Practice certificate for participation in research programs. She has participated as a clinical sub-investigator in many clinical trials concerning psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and other dermatological diseases. She is also certified in Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS and ALS).

Dr. Athanasia Zampeta speaks English and French.

She is member of the Hellenic Dermatology and Venereology Society, the European Academy of Dermatology-Venereology and the Cyprus Medical Association.
